Buddy Buddy
Buddy Buddy

My name is Buddy and I am seven years old. I am a very sweet, loving, big Iggy. I love to meet new people and I get very excited to meet new dogs, in fact I haven’t met a dog I didn’t like. I am also cat friendly. I am an active and healthy boy. I really like to get exercise and go on walks, but I do require some work with my harness and leash. My foster mom says I pull pretty well on the leash so patience and training are required. I love going to the small dog park and wish I could go into the big dog section but foster mom says, not safe. My favorite lazy past time is sunning myself outside so a yard is important. I cannot stress this enough, I love attention! I’ll take it in scratches, or pets, belly rubs or kisses; anyway I can get it. Be forewarned, I love to give kisses too, and I sneak them in when you’re not looking! I am a little too big to be a comfortable lap dog, but that doesn’t stop me from trying. I am not a fussy eater and have lost some weight since coming to my foster home. I do have a little left to go, but I am well on my way to a healthy weight. I have learned how to sit since I’ve been here and I trained easily with a few reward treats. I’ll tell you one thing I do not like, crates! Don’t even think about putting me in one of those things. Foster mom has tried every trick in the book but she can’t fool me. You know what I like to do with the crate my foster mom tried to train me in, sleep on top of it. That’s all its good for. I am using the doggie door well here, but might need encouragement in new surroundings. I am a dominant dog and I like everyone to know where my territory is, so sometimes I have to wear a belly band but foster mom says I am doing much better. She said my new home will be diligent in working with me on where it is ok to go potty and where it isn’t. When I came into rescue my teeth were neglected so I got a thorough dental and lost some teeth but I manage just fine. I will need good teeth care and annual dentals. Foster mom says I am mostly a quiet dog. Not a big barker unless I am chasing a squirrel out in the yard and then you’ll surely hear my voice. I am also pretty confident dog, not a nervous IG. I getting a little unsure about car rides but when my foster mom figured out all I need is air blowing in my face from the car vents, we were good to go.

I am mostly just a lovey, big Iggy waiting for someone with lots of love and affection to give (and get)!
